Adventure Awaits

1.

Expeditions

Explore scenic trails with me on hikes through breathtaking UK landscapes, while developing your navigation skills and confidence outdoors. I cater to DofE groups, individuals and families with or without camping.

2.

Camping

Whether your are a first-time camper or wanting to get into wild camping I'd love to help. Together we will develop your skills in kit, location selection, campcraft and cooking.

3.

Coaching

From assisting with route planning in the classroom to building navigation or campcraft skills in the outdoors, I work with you to develop independence for your future adventures.

4.

Promotion

Presenting and answering the queries of DofE participants and parents can be challenge if you aren't fluent in the requirements of all of the sections of the Awards. I have a tried and tested presentation which I deliver to groups big or small.

5.

Resources

Proven self-study digital resources to train and prepare participants for their DofE expeditions. Resources include food planning, kit, first aid and navigation.

6.

Consultation

With over 13 years working with one school and their DofE programmes, including running their Bronze with a massive 170 students enrolled, I can advise on all aspects of the Award to help you provide the best experiences for your students.

Specialising in Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, I support schools by collaborating directly with them or through an AAP. With expertise in Bronze, Silver, and Gold walking expeditions across National Parks in England and Wales, Smile Outdoors ensures memorable outdoor experiences.

Qualified Teacher Status

Bangor University, 2010

Trained and worked 17 years teaching 11-18 year olds in the classroom setting. Other roles within schools included setting up and running nature and expedition trips for whole year groups.
